The AudioQuest Angel Tonearm Cable is a high-end audio cable designed to connect a turntable’s tonearm to its phono preamp.
AudioQuest Tonearm Cables begin with Golden Gate, Yosemite, and Angel — three outstanding models from our critically acclaimed Bridges & Falls Series. With their left and right channels housed in a single jacket, these models are specially designed for physical flexibility and the versatility it affords — without unjustifiably sacrificing performance.
As with all AudioQuest cables, Golden Gate, Yosemite, and Angel combine superior materials and design elements to minimize distortion and efficiently dissipate noise: AudioQuest’s high-purity metals, carefully considered dielectric materials, and effective noise-dissipation technologies are all successfully employed.
Yosemite, Angel, and the top-of-the-line WEL Signature Limited Edition add to this solid foundation AudioQuest’s patented Dielectric-Bias System (DBS), which significantly improves wide-bandwidth dissipation of induced radio-frequency noise. Finally, WEL Signature has slightly larger conductors than Angel and incorporates alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics to afford even greater noise-dissipation.
All four models in the series incorporate a ground wire and can be terminated with either a straight or 90-degree angled JIS plug.
Features
SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE SILVER (PSS) CONDUCTORS
Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic strand-interaction. PSS Solid-Silver minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear RF Noise-Dissipation.
FEP AIR-TUBE DIELECTRIC
Positive conductors benefit from almost no contact between metal and its FEP insulation, which is notable for its superior dielectric constant and minimal signal interference. Negative conductors benefit from intentionally “lossy insulation” — no air and no FEP helps maximize the negative connection’s different job.
CARBON-BASED NOISE-DISSIPATION
Carbon-Based Noise-Dissipation minimizes radio-frequency noise masking effects.
72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)
Insulation is also a dielectric that can act like a shunt-filter. Biasing minimizes dielectric-noise and linearizes the filter, significantly improving wide-bandwidth dissipation of induced RF noise.
DIRECTION-CONTROLLED CONDUCTORS
A fundamental aspect of AudioQuest's multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology, Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.
COLD-WELDED, DIRECT-SILVER PLATED PURE RED COPPER TERMINATIONS
Direct-Silver Plating is optimized for sound, using no underlying layer of distortion-causing nickel, while the highly effective cold-weld process avoids sound-degrading solder.
